FAQ

  • Why is my car taking longer than I was initially quoted?

Unfortunately, sometimes in the disassembly process, we find additional damage that could not be seen when the car was first brought in for an estimate. In this case, we document the additional damages found, add them to the estimate, and order any necessary parts. These additional damages can lead to parts delays, extra repair time needed, and an increased estimate amount. But don’t worry! Our estimators and technicians are working hard to get your vehicle back to pre-accident condition.

  • What is the average repair estimate amount?

The average repair estimate amount of a non-driveable vehicle is around $6,000; a driveable vehicle is around $3,000. These estimated amounts vary based on repair times, part prices, and insurance rates.

  • Is my vehicle an automatic total loss if the frame is damaged?

No, not necessarily. It depends on the scope and the cost of the damages. Today’s unibodies are often much more repairable than vehicles of the past. There are now serviceable parts of the frames that can be replaced apart from replacing the entire frame.

  • Do you warranty your repairs?

Yes! Airport Paint and Body offers a limited lifetime warranty for the duration that you own your vehicle. Please refer to your warranty packet for more information.

  • Who do I pay my deductible to?

You can pay your deductible directly to the shop when you pick up your vehicle and at the end of the repairs.

  • What is a DRP or a direct repair facility?

A direct repair facility is a preferred shop for an insurance provider. These body shops have a reputation for quality work and excellent customer service and are constantly reviewed by the insurance company to ensure certain standards are met. With I-Car certified technicians and knowledgeable estimators, the repair process for DRP customers is streamlined to create a smooth repair process – from the initial estimate to the final product. Airport Paint and Body partners with several major insurance companies at all of our locations.

  • My insurance company gave me a check; what do I do with it?

You can either deposit the check into your account and pay us at the end of the repairs, or you can just sign the check and hand the payment over to your estimator when you pick up your car at the end of the repairs.

  • How do I set up my rental car?

Your insurance company will send an assignment to the rental company with your claim information. If the rental company has not received it, you can reach out to your insurance adjuster for them to assist you. As a courtesy, we can contact the rental companies on your behalf to confirm the appointment date and time when you are dropping off your vehicle for repairs. Most rental companies will meet you at the shop upon drop-off.
